Thomas Bestwick

Having grown up in the North East of Scotland with English parents, my voice sounds Scottish, but my accent is soft enough to be clear to the foreign ear.

I'm adept at received pronunciation, and being somewhat of a mimic, also a wide range of accents, with a readiness to learn new ones.

I've completed a six month course with Helen Lloyd, honing my narration skills.  During the course I worked on bringing a dynamic and engaged read to my narration.

Prior to becoming a narrator my background was in sound production. I have an MSc in sound design from the University of Edinburgh.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, and this has been the driving force behind the courses I have studied.  When I started my undergraduate degree in Film and Photography I never envisaged myself as an audiobook narrator.  Now two years on, with a passion for the job, I can't envisage myself doing anything else!
